Septicum ist im eigentlichen Sinne keine Band, sondern eher ein Experiment. Gegründet wurde Septicum von Stefan Hagspiel und Sebastian Hoffmann in Bregenz, AT, im Jahr 1998. Damals war das Keyboard der Anfang aller Dinge. Ohne PC oder sonstiger elektronischer Unterstützung bastelten die zwei Jungmusiker an kleinen Arrangements, welche einfach auf Disketten gespeichert und immer wieder editiert wurden.
